Virtual Public Meeting Nov. 2020 - Phase One Improvements Presentation

The current University Lakes Project effort is building upon the master planning process completed in 2016 and fully documented at www.batonrougelakes.org. The master plan was championed and managed by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation (BRAF), who remain as a key stakeholder in the present University Lakes Project. Master plans are of necessity high-level and generalized documents. The project is now entering a "ground truthing" phase where assumptions made during the master planning process are more fully vetted based on data and additional research, and through a nine month design process the plans for dredging and improvements to the lakes will be refined to the schematic design stage.

A virtual public meeting was held on November 17, 2020 to summarize the current project status and describe the intended process for moving forward based on funding availability. LSU's Real Estate and Facilities Foundation formed an entity specifically to manage this project - University Lakes, LLC, which has issued competitive solicitations for professional services. That process, and the project management in general, is being handled for the LLC by the partnership of Brailsford & Dunlavey / CSRS. The video for that meeting may be viewed on YouTube.

During the video presentation, representatives from LSU and the consultant team described the scope of work for Phase One of the project which is based on the availability of funds. The 10-page presentation summarizing these Phase One Improvements for the University Lakes Project may be downloaded below.
